Om Bev Hayes
As a visual artist I enjoy the interplay of digital and analogue processes which become amalgamated into a series of abstract narratives, exploring a sense of place and belonging that is rooted in nature.
I use alternative forms of photography as a tool for recording instances in my sensory environment, to be then realised through the tactile nature of printmaking, in multi faceted graphical works. Collaging cartography has a hand along the way, along with graphic mark making, these combine in ephemeral elements of figuration. I like to cross between multiple series so that they run parallel with one another, connecting in subject matter and influencing a variation on a theme. Photopolymer Gravures and Collaged Prints and Paintings are my main body of ongoing works on paper.
